What in the world?

I came home last night to find something weird in the garden.  A lot of them.

This is what it looks like up close.  Any guesses?

    mushrooms???

    i have a ton of different fungi coming up from my bagged compost i used this year. no more bagged compost. eep.

    I can't help but imagine a lot of tiny giraffes wandering around your yard..
